A fire has reportedly destroyed a section of the Gidan Rumfa palace, the residence of the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi.
The blaze, suspected to have been started by unidentified individuals, occurred late Friday night around 11 pm. Other sources claimed the incident occurred on saturday morning.
According to a reliable source within the palace, the fire severely damaged the area located at Kofar Kudu, where Emir Sanusi Lamido traditionally holds court sessions every Monday.
However The State Fire Service Public Relations Officer, Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, stated, “The command was unaware of the incident, as no calls were received about it at any of the agency’s centers.”
