Newcastle United looked destined for victory after Nick Woltemade struck twice inside the opening 20 minutes, capitalizing on Chelsea’s defensive frailties. The German forward smashed home from close range after Anthony Gordon’s early cross was parried, then doubled his tally with a composed finish following another Gordon delivery.

Chelsea appeared rattled, with goalkeeper Robert Sánchez forced into acrobatic saves to keep the scoreline manageable. The Magpies could have been out of sight by halftime, but Woltemade missed a golden chance to complete his hat-trick.

The second half told a different story. Reece James curled in a superb free kick on 49 minutes, igniting belief among the traveling Blues supporters. Just 17 minutes later, João Pedro produced a dazzling solo effort, weaving past Newcastle defender Fabian Schar before slotting home to level the match.

Despite late pressure from both sides, neither could find a winner. The draw leaves Chelsea fourth in the Premier League table, while Newcastle remains mid-table, but squandered chances to secure all three points
